This report serves as a testament to a simple, powerful truth: your donations are working. In a year marked by complex global health challenges, our community has united with unparalleled generosity to support one of the most pressing—the lifelong battle against thalassemia. You have actively participated in a global movement, directing vital resources to patients, clinics, and researchers. We, in turn, have been "actively doing our part" to ensure your trust translates into tangible outcomes through rigorous vetting of our medical partners, transparent fund allocation, and direct support for patient services. Your contributions have funded life-saving treatments and fueled critical research, providing a lifeline to patients around the world.
Your collective action has supported thousands of patients with essential blood transfusions, funded vital genetic counseling sessions, and supported dozens of medical and research partners on the front lines. Your donations are at work in the most tangible ways: providing the safe, screened blood that children rely on to survive; funding the oral chelation therapy that prevents life-threatening organ damage from iron overload; and empowering at-risk couples with the genetic screening needed to prevent new, severe cases of the disease. These are not abstract goals—they are real-world outcomes you have made possible.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to transparency, ensuring every dollar is maximized for patient impact. This year, 89% of all funds were allocated directly to patient services and research, including blood supplies, chelation drugs, and counseling grants. As we look forward, we are actively expanding our medical partner network to reach new, underserved regions and launching a dedicated Thalassemia Research Fund to support promising cure-based initiatives. We thank you for being an active partner in this work. You are the engine of this mission, and because of you, we are delivering tangible hope to thalassemia patients and their families every day.
