Trafficking Survivors Progress in Skills Training

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear respected donors,

Thank you for the great support towards the Life Skills for Migrants and Trafficking Survivors project. Your support continues to give hope and direction to individuals working to rebuild their lives after very difficult experiences.

This is now the fourth month since the enrolment of the first batch of participants into their various skills training programs in Edo State. The selected beneficiaries were enrolled in a six-month training program, and we are pleased to share that they are currently performing well across their chosen areas.

Participants are actively engaged in learning practical skills such as fashion design and hairdressing. Attendance has been consistent, and trainers have reported steady improvement in both technical ability and confidence. Beyond learning a trade, the participants are gradually regaining stability, routine, and a sense of purpose.

For many of them, this training represents a turning point. Having returned from difficult situations with little or no support, they are now gaining skills that can help them earn and live independently. Their progress so far reflects strong willingness to build a better future.

The beneficiaries are expected to graduate in two months’ time, marking the completion of their training cycle. We are hopeful that the next report will focus on their graduation, including photos that we believe you will appreciate. It will also include financial update on how resources have been used so far, as well as plans for enrolling the next group of participants.

We remain grateful for the support that has made this phase possible. Continued assistance will help ensure that graduates receive the tools they need to begin their work and that more individuals can be enrolled in future batches.

Thank you for being so kind and for standing with us in this effort.

Sincerely,

Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
