Life-Saving Digital Healthcare in Mauritania

Thanks to the combined support of donors like you and key partners, our life-saving digital health platform has grown from a tool focused on child malnutrition into a comprehensive community health system reaching some of the most isolated communities in Mauritania's Assaba region.

Here is what your support has helped make possible:

• 8,762 children treated for acute malnutrition and/or priority childhood illnesses
• 3,200 pregnant and lactating women enrolled in remote nutritional and health counseling
• 187 community health workers trained and equipped with our mobile diagnostic and treatment-guidance tool
• 85% of families report adopting healthier habits thanks to our health counseling messages
• 152% increase in acute malnutrition recovery rates, thanks to guided treatment and stronger health facility performance

Beyond the numbers, this year we also:

• Built a brand-new mobile application that guides community health workers through diagnosis and treatment protocols for the most common childhood illnesses — helping catch danger signs before they become emergencies
• Automated enrollment and personalized health messaging so that as soon as a health worker registers a mother, she begins receiving guidance tailored to her pregnancy stage and, later, to her newborn's needs

A milestone for the future:

Mauritania's Ministry of Health formally reviewed and validated our technology, and has asked us to expand it further to include vaccination tracking and pre/postnatal monitoring nationwide. Our platform has now been mapped into the country's official National Health Digitalization Strategy — a critical step toward long-term, government-backed sustainability.

Looking ahead: we're working to sustain this system at scale and deepen our partnership with local health authorities so that every family — no matter how remote — has a trusted voice guiding them through their child's first, most fragile years.
