Greetings to all Cast Your Nets Ministry Donors and Supporters.
March and April of this year marked a significant change for our Ministry. For the first time, the organization, management, and oversight of our latest client trip was handled by our local ministry partner, Little Children of the Philippines (LCP). This is a goal we have been pursuing for the last couple of years as it offers several advantages for the effective management of our client care and support. LCP has acted as our primary partner for our client’s physical therapy and they are well established at the local community level. This allows LCP to identify and bring to us the majority of the children who are eligible to receive care. We have been working with them for over a year now on the process and procedures to put together a trip to Davao, and now we have taken off the “training wheels”. While there have been a few expected bumps on the path, we are really pleased with the performance of the LCP staff for their work and diligence to help us reach this goal!
About the trip! In April, we sent seven clients and their care takers to the Tebow Cure Hospital in Davao for treatment. There were six new clients, all with club foot disorder. They are currently undergoing serial casting on their feet and will receive surgery when their feet are ready. We just got notice that four will be returning home by the end of May. The seventh child is Khert, who is making his second trip to Davao and will now undergo the amputation of his foot in preparation to receive a prosthetic leg. We are receiving reports from LCP on the status of these clients on a regular basis and all is going as planned. Our thanks to Carmenia, Benjo, and Claire for their efforts in helping us make this happen!
As always, our thanks and appreciation go out to all of you, our donors. Like everything else in the world, our trips are getting more expensive. Without your support, there would be no hope for these families to overcome these obstacles.
THANK YOU!!
