As we enter into the end of the year, we are actively expressing our gratitude for our community's incredible support in bringing the Nguku Library to life. With an initial donation from Pennywise, our partners successfully laid the foundation in June, setting the groundwork for walling and roofing.
In September, we hosted a Nairobi Night, the Nguku Community pitched in 700 construction stones and lumber. We received generous support from donations, as well as the Rotary Kansas District 5680, which raised $8,644.95. From this fund, we used $7,980 to purchase building materials, hire a local contractor, and harvest donated trees for lumber. As a result, we employed about 30 workers, boosting our community's economy and ownership of the project.
With our community's continued support, we are hopeful and excited to complete this project over the course of 2026. Thank you again for joining us on this journey.
