We just received more books!!! Always an exciting moment. When I was in the USA last year we held a very successful book drive. The outpouring of support was just amazing.
In colaboration with our partner organization NITEO, they agrees that if we could get the books to their home base in British Columbia- they would ship them to Uganda for us. So six GIANT boxes of books and a year later, they have arrived!
The books are being distributed to our existing libraries as we desperately need some replacements. Books often don't last more than a year or two, with hundreads of little hands grabbing and reading them. (Ok, and sometimes using them to WACK other kids when the Librarian's back is turned...)
Our libraries are hugely successful, but they also cost money to keep open. Your contributions are invaluable to our work in our communities. And we thank you with every page we turn.
