Village Improvement Project has been awarded a $3000 grant from Friends of Liberia to provide the seed money to publish the first copies of Once Upon West Africa. Also, our Chairman of the Board, Dr. LeRoy Boikai, is in Monrovia, Liberia right now. He plans to meet with individuals at a high level in the Ministry of Education to discuss getting Once Upon West Africa adopted as an approved text for Liberian schools.
Copies of the book will soon be available for purchase in the United States by mail-order. There is already great interest on the part of Liberians living in the US who want to share the stories of their childhood in Liberia with their own children who have grown up in the US.
