This year Lia's Wings will undertake dozens of life-saving aeroplane ambulance flights to support children in the UK. Five of these flights will ensure that pediatric patients (between 1-18 years of age) who are in urgent need of a surgery, transplant or specialist therapy, can travel safely and comfortably via our specialist air ambulance - as other transport methods simply wouldn't be viable for when. Lia's Wings represents the last, and only chance these children have. Please help us!
Lia's Wings is the only option for some of the UK's most clinically vulnerable children who are in urgent need of a hospital transfer. This year Lia's Wings will receive referrals from five hospitals who are supporting pediatric patients - from birth to 18 years of age - who desperately need a life-saving treatment, therapy or surgery. For these children, a journey by road ambulance or helicopter isn't viable, so our aeroplane ambulances are their last (and only) chance!
Lia's Wings is the only charity in the UK (and Europe) capable of undertaking aeroplane ambulance missions, to ensure these children get the clinical support they so desperately need. We are the only charity with the equipment, skills, and expertise needed to transport these children - and without us, there really isn't a "plan B". Funding these flights will ensure that these children (and others like them) can get the help they need this year, and for many years to come.
We are proud that as a result of our air ambulance transfers children have been discharged from long hospital stays, overcome diseases like cancer, have received life-saving transplants and treatments, or have received a diagnosis which finally enables their family to gain support, and the chance of leading a "normal" life.
