"FUNDXUB" Report as of Jan, 2023

Within the framework of this solidarity project, which we have created from the FUNDXU Foundation and with the support of the Funcomas Foundation, our concern for the well-being of the elderly and those who are on their way to becoming so in the near future is expressed.

International studies affirm that the majority of people living in poverty are unable to prepare for life as an older adult, which is why many elderly people who do not have the support of a stable socioeconomic context present significant difficulties in sustaining themselves in a dignified and moderately productive.

Our mission with this initiative is not only to preserve the physical integrity of the elderly in vulnerable conditions, but also to support those who are living in poverty in various aspects:

1) covering their food needs,
2) providing medicines and health items,
3) supporting them with training and guidance to better live their senior years and
4) providing them with tools that allow them to protect themselves from diseases.

In this sense, we have executed a series of programs that are sustained with the donations received and whose results and evidence of implementation we present below.

1. Support and food program for the elderly.

During the quarter in question, we held 3 meetings through which more than 40 elderly people were benefited with food baskets and solidarity bonds to help sustain the economic burden they experience.

With the invaluable support of a group of volunteers, these events were held in the neighborhoods of Manresa Altagracia, Luz Consuelo Sur and other sectors of the National District.

2. Supplement program for medicines and health articles.

45 older adults in Santo Domingo have been subsidized with doses of medicines.

To the extent of our possibilities, we have identified cases of older adults with health problems who do not have the financial resources or the necessary support to supply their monthly medication load.

Most of these do not even have health insurance that reduces their situation.

For this reason, we collect or buy as much medicine as possible every month and distribute it, starting with the most serious cases.

3. Education program for the 3rd age.

We developed four talk-type events to raise awareness about the care of the elderly. In them, expert educators (doctors, nurses, gerontologists and social workers) teach our beneficiaries tools to live in well-being and health habits.

4. Disease Protection and Prevention Program.

28 packages with Covid 19 protection and prevention equipment have been donated. This is: packages of masks, disinfectant gel, alcohol, wet towels, disinfectant for surfaces and waterproof gloves.
The purpose is to supply more and more elderly people with this type of item on a monthly basis, to avoid contagion, avoid human losses and reduce the spread of the virus.

I invite you to continue supporting us and collaborate with the safety and well-being of this population that is so vulnerable at this time.

We are extremely grateful to all the noble souls who have promoted this project, doing their bit to make it a reality.

Thank you immensely to all.
