Activities for people with Learning Disabilities

We are now helping even more people with learning disabilities, with your help.

VALUES is proud to announce the opening of our second base, VALUES @ Danbury Gardens. Danbury Gardens is a retirement village with great communal facilities that we are making good use of. Our clients (and staff) are able to mix with the older people that live at Danbury Gardens, making for new relationships and a great atmosphere. The new site also allows us to add new types of sessions such as Boules (Boccia) and gardening, as well as additional sessions of some old favourites like English and maths and singing. The new site gives us the benefit of great accessible facilities, car parking and on site café.

To open the new service we had a launch party at the new venue on 10^th April. Lots of clients, parents, social workers and other professionals came to welcome in the new VALUES room. There was a VALUES Quiz plus tea and cake! With such nice weather on the day we decided to go into the gardens for the ribbon cutting. We were given an example of one of the new sessions at Danbury Gardens with a performance by the singing group. The VALUES photography group came over from VAL to take photos of the party. We all had a great time and some of the clients decided they would like to swap over from VAL to the new site.

You can help us with making the new site really great by making a small (or large) donation to help us get all the equipment we need to make it like a second home for our clients. We need new work books for English and maths sessions, board games and Boccia equipment. We also need new mobility equipment to ensure that our clients who use wheelchairs get the same access to the service as their peers.
