Geetings,
As we head in to fall, I hope this finds you well.
September is when Mexico celebrates it's independence (September 16th) and here in the community of San Miguel Viejo, they celebrate the Patron Saint, Archangel Michael (September 29th).
We are so grateful to be settling into a routine with our finished facility. A truly functioning building serves it's occupants needs in a well planned accesible and comfortable environment. Our community now has a safe, clean space where they are valued and respected and feel comfortable expressing themselves. Our new facility fosters social inclusion. We promote student well-being in a positive atmosphere where they can thrive. A safe classroom makes children feel protected.
Many of you follow our continuous Educational and Art programs as well as the many workshops and classes we offer. Now with a kitchen, we have added another workshop for the community. They are learning to make decorative gelatin desserts. Here in Mexico, "gelatinas" are very popular. This is so fun and teaches them a skill that could generate income for them in the future. Please see the pictures yet remember they are just learning and by this author's observation it takes skill and patience.
We are beyond grateful and will continue to serve the community of San Miguel Viejo in central Mexico.
Sincerely
Betty
