Dear GlobalGiving community, friends, and supporters,
As the corona pandemic continues to hinder us from traveling to Ukraine to educate children on risks posed by explosive ordnances by ourselves, we teamed up with a local NGO called "Voices of the Children" to sustain our successful explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) in Donetsk and Luhansk.
The approach of working together with a local NGO proved to be an effective solution to mitigate constraints posed by the Corona pandemic. In the last months, we jointly educated children in 6 schools in Donetsk and Luhansk region, and several "Safe Houses" in other villages that are close to the contact line. In detail, Mine Mark took care of the creation and printing of the materials, whereas Voices of the Children distributed the materials and educated teachers and children in schools and safe houses. Voices of the Children works closely with Psychologists that are specially trained to work with children, which aligns with our Child Safeguarding policy.
Of course, Mine Mark hopes to fly to Ukraine again at the end of this or beginning next year and to initiate an even more ambitious project with Voices of the Children.
Furthermore, after testing our Online Education Platform (OEP). we further improved its content and game flow.
Thank you again for your generous support and we will keep you updated.
Stay healthy,
your Mine Mark Team
