Thank you for your donation through GlobalGiving to Best Friends Animal Society’s LA Pup My Ride program.
Best Friends Animal Society started the Los Angeles (LA) Pup My Ride program to transport at-risk, small breed dogs from LA area shelters to communities where the demand is high but the supply is low. The mission is simple; get dogs out of local shelters and deliver them to rescues and communities where there are waiting lists for dogs that would otherwise die in LA shelters.
The LA Pup My Ride program is making a difference in the lives of these small dogs. So far this year, 2,018 dogs have been transported by this program to communities where they receive a new chance at life and finding their forever home. In fact, over the past two months, the LA Pup My Ride program transported 502 dogs to receiving rescues in Colorado, Montana, Utah, Oregon, and New York City. Thanks to dedicated staff and overwhelming volunteer support in 2012, LA Pup My Ride has completed over 50 total transports—including some by plane!
Two of the dogs helped by LA Pup My Ride are pictured below, including an adorable one-eyed poodle. Sadly,
both of these small dogs were scheduled to be euthanized at a shelter in LA, but thanks to LA Pup My Ride, they were transported to Montana and adopted quickly by new families.
Thank you again for your support with giving these dogs a second chance to find their forever home. Together, we can bring about a time when there are No More Homeless Pets®.
