“La Fondita de Jesús en la Comunidad” has been continuously providing services in different communities of San Juan. Thanks to GlobalGiving Foundation funds, we have the opportunity to continue with this project, to promote the recovery and stabilization of communities after hurricane María passed through Puerto Rico. Thanks to donors like you, we have been able to provide clinical services with “Conexión Móvil” program, such as preventive and primary medical care, nursing, drug counseling and psychology, as well as food and other services, in the following communities: Residencial Berwind, Villa Clemente, Los Peña, Plaza La Convalecencia, Península de Cantera and Egida Casa Metropolitana. A total of 98 non-duplicated persons were impacted during December, 2018, with 427 service units. Of those, 98% were homeless persons. Also, health fairs has been coordinated, in order to impact more individuals in some of those communities.
Attached you will find some photos of a health fair which was held on “Plaza La Convalecencia”, at Río Piedras. Around those facilities, there are a lot of homeless persons looking for food and assistance, as well as very low income persons. These health fairs allow us to screen vital signs and evaluate different conditions of the homeless and people that were severely affected by hurricane María, still with lack of access to health services.
Thank you for your support and believing in our mission! With your donations, you help La Fondita de Jesús to continue making a difference to help communities in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to become stronger, healthier and work toward self-sufficiency.
