It's been a busy summer at LA Scores, even though school is out for most students, LA Scores' annual summer camp provides a safe place for students to continue their development. Open to all elementary school age children in the Palms community we host a four-week camp that runs from noon until 3:00pm each day Mondauy through Friday at Palms Elementary, the site of our first Field for Dreams, coming soon with your support.

This summer approximately 60 students enjoyed soccer and writing activities enfused with enthusiasm and fun from our coaches and our middle school and high school alumni coach assistants who come back each year to give back to the program they were once a recipient of. Campers of the week were recognized by their coaches and presented with a Beats headset donated by one of our corporate partners. The camp culminated in a field trip to the Pasadena Rose Bowl, a soccer clinic, and tickets to watch the CONCANCAF Gold Cup semi-final between Mexico and Jamaica - all provided by our friends at CONCACAF.

In addition to the summer camp, staff, board members and volunteers were also busy with our annual fund-raising event, the LA Scores Cup. On Sunday July 9, approximately 600 men and women soccer players representing 36 corporate teams embarked upon the Stubhub Center, home of the LA Galaxy, to compete in Los Angeles' premier corporate charity soccer tournament, with all proceeds benefiting the students of America Scores LA (LA Scores).

Thank you for supporting our project to "Create a Safe Place to Play soccer for 500 LA Kids" - we will only get there with the continued support of people like you. As we start a new fiscal year on September 1, we hope you will consider renewing your gift or sharing this project with someone in your network whom you feel would be willing to make a contribution. Many thanks!!
