America SCORES LA's Junior SCORES after-school program is targeted towards Kindergarten, First and Second grade students at each of our elementary school partner school sites. Junior SCORES is designed to provide a one week experience of soccer and reading programs and provide a foundation for the core America SCORES LA soccer, poetry and service-learning programming targeting Third, Fourth and Fifth graders. We had record numbers of students signing up for the Junior SCORES program this year and many requests to extend the program beyond the one week introduction, somethig we will be considering in the future.
We were also fortunate this spring to receive a donation of t-shirts from Nike via Good360 - the kids love their new t-shirts and wear them proudly on campus, check out our photo gallery! Many of the kids in these photos will be the beneficiaries of the new turf soccer field we are busy raising funds for, so thank you, on behalf of the students, to all our initial donors, having a safe place to play soccer will provide a much deeper experience for our students. You've got us started, and we appreciate your support, but we still have a long way to go....
