Project Report | Dec 6, 2010
Newsletter: November 2010

By Robin Chaurasiya | Executive Director

Dear Supporters,

I was unable to attend Youth Action Net because of a severe stomach infection. In spite of falling ill while in India, I made her way to the conference, being transported in a wheelchair through airports But I had to be admitted to the ER in New York and was sent to my sister’s at Boston to recover.

On the up side, I was able to attend the Opportunity Collaboration in Estapa, Mexico, and made some great connections that we plan to strengthen in future. We will update you on these partnerships as they mature (don’t want to jinx them!).

Meanwhile, back in India, Kranti was faced with moral as well as legal dilemmas, that made us question many of our core principles of giving the Revolutionaries freedom of choice, and the belief that they know what is best for them. However, we resolved all these issues by openly discussing them with the Revolutionaries, since they are an integral part of Kranti’s decision-making process. Ultimately, we emerged with a stronger set of principles that balanced our idealist with pragmatism.

No sooner had we overcome this hurdle, that I was deported from India because of some complications with my visa. But thankfully, after cutting through much beaurocratic red tape I am back in Mumbai, and we are both dedicating our days to expand Kranti further.

The tip of that red line on that graph is us being chosen as Ashoka’s Youth Social Venture! To be recognized by an organisation like Ashoka gains us credibility and great honour in the space of social entrepreneurship.

Sincerely,

Robin Chaurasiya
