I have just visited our work in Kolkata, West Bengal State.
The work is in good heart with our girls all happily attending school. They are nourished, protected and challenged to seek a solid future. Our oldest girl, who now lives outside our hostel. She is in the final 6 months of a bachelors degree, while our oldest living-in-hostel girl is in Grade 11.
We can tell that they are quite happy because they make far too much noise laughing and playing, which causes our neighbour's to complain to us!
When they were young and living out in their country villages, they did not have the benefit of conquering their A's B's and C's. This means that attending a city school is more of a struggle for them than their fellow students. Nevertheless, they are catching up to their peers from the city.
Thanks so much for your kind support of our girls as we seek to steer them away from the potential of trafficking and entering unsafe employment.
