Koh Samui Kayak Challenge - for Childline Thailand

In March 2025, something remarkable happened off the coast of Koh Samui.

For four days, Paul and Colin paddled across 80 kilometers of open ocean facing waves, wind, and physical exhaustion. But this journey was never just about the distance. It was about something far greater: standing beside children in Thailand who face crisis, uncertainty, and hardship every single day.

And thanks to Paul and Colin, that journey created real impact. Together, through this campaign on GlobalGiving, we raised 618.18 USD to support vulnerable children across Thailand.

What Your Support Makes Possible

Behind every donation is a child who is heard, protected, and cared for.

Your generosity helps sustain the work of Childline Thailand Foundation (Saidek 1387), ensuring that critical services remain available for children in need through:

• A 24/7 helpline (Contact Center 1387) where children can reach out in moments of fear, loneliness, or crisis
• A safe shelter (The Hub Saidek) providing food, care, and protection for children escaping abuse or homelessness
• Ongoing outreach and advocacy efforts (Communication) that amplify children’s voices and push for stronger Child Protection systems

This is not just support. "It is a lifeline".

The Reality Children Are Facing

Every day in Thailand, the need is urgent.

• Around 225 children reach out for help daily—that’s 9 children every hour
• At least 6 children each day contact us due to violence
• Another 16 children daily struggle to access their basic rights

With your support, over the past year:

• 82,200 contacts were listened to and responded to
• More than 944 children received direct intervention and care
• 12,200 meals were provided to children in need
• 660 emergency support at night-time responses ensured children were never left alone in crisis

Each number represents a child who found someone on the other end of the line—someone who listened, believed, and helped.

From the Ocean to Every Child in Need

While the kayak challenge took place last year, its impact continues to ripple forward.

Paul and Colin’s journey across the sea has become part of a much larger story—one where compassion travels far beyond a single moment in time.

• Because of you, a child without a safe place can find shelter, food, and care.
• Because of you, hope becomes possible for them.
