We would like to express our gratitude for your contributions towards an organisation called Kusile Women Empowerment, an NPO registered in 2012 in the Mlungisi township in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
For Nelson Mandela day this year Kusile Women Empowerment did something special. Whilst the organisation itself focuses on reducing GBVF and child abuse, for Mandela Day they partnered up with a youth group. The youth spent the day cleaning their community, picking up litter and tidying, making a big impact on the environment.
In support of this initiative Kusile Women Empowerment, cooked a special meal and were able to feed 69 children and needy community members on the day of the clean up, including the youth conducting the cleaning. The donations received from GlobalGiving enabled the organisation to purchase ingredients to make well balanced nutritional lunches for the youth group and community members in need.
The organisation cooked a warm meal of chicken, yellow rice, cabbage, potatoes and carrots, accompanied by juice, all cooked using the oven previously provided by RDSP.
Thank you for your support and contribution towards sustaining vital organisations like Kusile Women Empowerment in the most rural and impoverished communities. Your contributions made Mandela Day extra special this year.
