Thanks to your assistance 24 children have received assistance with their education expenses. 7 of them are in Boarding School. Boarding school is normal for Kenya as distances to school are often vast, and the public day schools are often very overcrowded. Expanding Opportunities uses your funds to pay all or some of the 24 children’s education expenses. The least we have done for a child is to purchase a uniform. Uniforms are required and many parents can afford the fees but not the cost of the uniform so their child cannot attend school. Other children receive the full cost of their expense as they are orphans with no found relatives or other source of funds. Most of these 24 students improved their academic scores this year. One is number one in his class and will take his final prima exam next year!! We hope to raise enough funds to purchase him some extra preparation texts. If he is able to excel in that primary examination, he could receive a full four year high school education free of charge! Four students completed the first year at Gordon Clem Academy, the organization’s new high school. It was a challenging year with construction; raids from neighboring tribes, drought and other challenges. These students met them head on and even prepared their own lunch at the school as the year approached its end.
The determination of these students to obtain an education deserves all of our support! The parents who try hard to do what they can deserve a boost.
The New Year will begin January 4, 2016. The list of students needing assistance has grown. If you can help in any way, please click on the DONATE TAB and give your year-end gift to education a child in Kenya.
