KEEPING VILLAGE FAMILIES SAFE FROM MALARIA

By Kajubi Jimmy | Project Leader

Dear Donors

Today, Karitas Relief Mission continued its work with village families to raise awareness about malaria prevention and the importance of seeking treatment quickly when symptoms appear.

However, our community has continued to be deeply affected by malaria. On Wednesday, we lost a two-month-old baby to malaria. This tragic loss has continued to shock and deeply concern the Karitas Relief Mission team, especially because fighting malaria and protecting vulnerable families from this preventable disease is already part of our community programs.

Impact on the Community

The death of such a young baby has reminded us of how dangerous malaria remains, particularly for infants and other vulnerable people. The loss has also strengthened our determination to continue educating families about prevention, early recognition of symptoms, and the importance of seeking medical care promptly.

For the families we serve, malaria is not simply a health statistic. It can take away loved ones and leave families grieving.

Our Ongoing Response

Karitas Relief Mission continues to work with communities to:

- Educate families about malaria prevention.

- Promote consistent use of mosquito nets.

- Encourage families to seek medical attention quickly when malaria symptoms appear.

- Raise awareness about protecting babies and children from mosquito bites.

- Encourage communities to maintain clean surroundings and reduce mosquito breeding areas.

- Mobilize resources to provide mosquito nets to vulnerable families.

Why Continued Support Matters

The loss of the two-month-old baby has shown us that our malaria prevention work remains urgently needed. We do not want other families to experience the same pain.

Karitas Relief Mission remains committed to strengthening malaria prevention activities in the communities we serve. With continued support, we can reach more families with mosquito nets, education, and life-saving prevention messages.

Conclusion

The loss of the baby on Wednesday has left our team deeply saddened and continues to shock us. It has also strengthened our commitment to the work we have already begun.

Every family protected, every child sleeping under a mosquito net, and every person who receives timely treatment represents a life that may be saved.

Karitas Relief Mission will continue standing with village families in the fight against malaria.
