Please help the Shola Adefolalu Gaska Foundation secure a new home for the Sholly Serenity Place, a shelter in Nigeria that has provided safety, healing, and hope to 75 women and children escaping domestic abuse. Our current lease ends in March 2027 and will not be renewed. We have identified a suitable new property and need to raise funds to secure a three-year lease, ensuring shelter services continue uninterrupted for survivors who need a safe place to rebuild their lives.
For five years, the Sholly Serenity Place has been a refuge for women and children escaping domestic abuse. Today, we face a critical challenge. Our current lease will not be renewed when it expires in March 2027. Your support will help ensure women and children fleeing abuse continue to have access to safe shelter & hope in Lagos state. There are less than 10 shelters in a state with over 20 million people.
The funds raised will be used to secure a three-year lease on a new property & cover the associated legal and agency fees. This will ensure that the Sholly Serenity Place can continue providing safe shelter and support services to women and children escaping domestic abuse without interruption.
By establishing a stable home for the Sholly Serenity Place for at least the next three years, this project will ensure that at least 45 women and children fleeing domestic abuse will have access to a safe place where they can begin rebuilding their lives. In the 5 years, we have been operating, we have taken care of 75 women and children. This is what I based my above assumption on. As this new TSSP will have more bed space, our actual number stands to be higher.
