Blessing always loved watching the boys play football after school, but she never imagined she could join them. As the eldest daughter in a family struggling financially, her days were filled with chores and worries about dropping out of school. When her school was selected for the Keep Girls in School Through Sports initiative, everything changed.
She was nervous the first time she stepped onto the pitch, unsure if she belonged. But the coaches welcomed her, and soon she was running, laughing, and kicking the ball with new friends. Through the project, Blessing not only discovered her athletic talent, but also improved her grades, thanks to the academic support and mentoring provided.
For the first time, Blessing’s parents attended a school event to watch her play. They saw her confidence, her joy, and her determination to finish her education. Inspired, they became advocates for girls’ sports and education in their community.
Blessing now dreams of becoming a doctor. She says, “Sports taught me that I can do anything. Now, I want to help other girls believe in themselves, too.”
Your donation helps girls like Blessing step off the sidelines and into a brighter future.
