Behind every statistic is a girl with dreams, talents, and unlimited potential. Nigeria has one of the world's largest populations of out-of-school children, with more than 10 million children unable to access education. In Benue State, the effects of conflict, displacement, poverty, and gender inequality have made the situation even more difficult. Many girls have been forced to leave school, losing not only their education but also the opportunity to build brighter, more secure futures.
These girls deserve more than sympathy—they deserve action.
Through GoGreen's Keep Girls in School Through Sports project, we are using the power of sports to reconnect girls with education and hope. Our programme combines school-based sports with mentoring, life-skills training, leadership development, and academic support, creating safe and encouraging spaces where girls regain confidence, stay engaged in school, and discover their full potential.
