Mercy Namata is 22 years old young woman from Ekondo Titi. She lives with her mother and junior brother. Despite the challenges, Mercy has dreams and a strong determination to build a better future. she was identified by the Reach Out social workers, who conducted social inquiry on her. after being selected by the team she was giving a capitatl to start her business.
She sells fruits (water melon, oranges) and roasted plantain by the road side. With the little income she gets, she has been able to follow up on her studies and keep her records. she was also among those who recieved the training on entrepreneurship by the Reach Out Team.
After a difficult period, where she lost half of her capital, Mercy did not give up. She made a plan, changed her business strategy and worked harder. Today, she is slowly but steadily rebuilding her business and saving enough money to go back to school next academic year.
Mercy’s story is a reminder that with perseverance, planning and courage, anything is possible.
