PROTECTING EDUCATION THROUGH MENSTRUAL HEALTH SUPP

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

For girls living in underserved rural communities, access to menstrual hygiene products can determine whether they attend school or stay home. The consequences of repeated absenteeism often include poor academic performance, reduced confidence, and an increased risk of dropping out.

During this reporting period, our project continued providing menstrual hygiene kits and reproductive health education to vulnerable girls. These interventions addressed immediate needs while helping girls build knowledge and confidence for the future.

The decline in support for adolescent outreach programs has left many schools with limited resources to assist girls facing health-related challenges. Through donor support, we have been able to fill critical gaps and ensure girls continue receiving guidance and practical assistance.

Beneficiaries participated in interactive workshops covering hygiene, self-care, and life skills. Teachers reported positive changes in attendance and engagement, while girls shared that they felt more comfortable and prepared to participate in school activities.

The impact extends beyond the classroom. Improved health knowledge and consistent school attendance help reduce vulnerability to early pregnancy, poverty, and long-term economic hardship.

Thank you for helping protect education for vulnerable girls. Your support is removing barriers, restoring confidence, and creating pathways toward brighter and more secure futures.
