KEEP 100 MOROCCAN CHILDREN AWAY FROM ABANDONMENT

Winter Report – Keep 100 Moroccan Children away from abandonment.

Our project kept going on during the last three months with the children getting involved in the new academic year. This first trimester was the occasion for them to attend the 1^st counselling workshop, which gave them the occasion to discover the different jobs possibilities. During the academic year, the children will have the opportunity to attend 3 successive counselling workshops giving them tools to choose their future professional activity.

In the meantime, their mothers have been involved in the different training sessions (hairdressing, dressmaking and baking) and 12 of them have chosen to start with our new soap manufacturing training session. Our soap cooperative project has well progressed during the past months with the 1^st training session organized by our Family Strengthening Program Coordinator in Imzouren. Our 12 volunteers have been manufacturing their 1^st soaps made of recycled vegetal oils giving a step forward to this social and environmental great project!

We would like also to congratulate Naoual, 13 years old, a beneficiary from our Family Strengthening Program in Imzouren and pupil in our Hermann Gmeiner School, for having participated in many athletics tournaments and having won several gold medals and other trophies!

Thanks again to all our generous sponsors that keep on helping our Association in giving 120 children and their mothers the chance to break the circle of poverty.

The end of the academic year was a great period for our project since the children were rewarded of their efforts of the whole year by getting really good results at school: the rate of success of the children, which were attending primary and secondary schools, reached 98%! Seeing them get the benefits of their hard work made us really happy of what we do to give them a better future!

During the summer months, we managed to send a few of them on a summer camp, but we would like to do so much more…

In September, we have been able to admit some more children and their mothers in our program, which supports now 120 children and 56 single mothers. The mothers are involved in different training sessions in hairdressing, dressmaking and our new baking session.

We are also currently working on the creation of a soap cooperative, which should be starting its activity in October. Based on the fabrication and sale of soaps manufactured with recycled vegetal oils, this initiative will also help the mothers in increasing their revenue and by consequence in taking care of their children by their own.
