Kate's Haven - A Refuge for Stray Cats

By Geoffrey Mulenga | Project Leader

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are grateful to share this update on Kate's Haven - A Refuge for Stray Cats, a project dedicated to providing care, safety, food, and basic medical support for stray and abandoned cats. Many stray cats face hunger, injury, disease, unsafe environments, and neglect. Through this project, Kate's Haven is working to give vulnerable cats a safer place where they can receive feeding, shelter, monitoring, and compassionate care.

During this reporting period, the project continued supporting approximately 25 stray and rescued cats through regular feeding, cleaning of shelter spaces, health checks, and basic care. The team also continued observing cats that may need veterinary attention, especially kittens, weak cats, and injured animals. These efforts are helping reduce suffering while creating a cleaner and safer refuge for cats that would otherwise remain exposed to danger on the streets.

One rescued cat, whom we will call Milo, reminds us why this work matters. Milo was found weak, hungry, and frightened after surviving outdoors with very little protection. After being brought into care, Milo began eating regularly, resting safely, and slowly gaining strength. Milo’s recovery shows how simple acts of compassion — food, shelter, cleanliness, and attention — can completely change the life of a vulnerable animal.

In the coming period, Kate's Haven will continue focusing on daily feeding, shelter maintenance, basic medical support, rescue response, and improved care for the cats already under protection. We deeply appreciate every supporter who has helped make this work possible. Your kindness is helping provide stray cats with safety, dignity, and a real chance to recover.
