Since our last report, Kate’s Haven – A Refuge for Stray Cats (67716) has continued to provide safety, medical care, and rehabilitation for vulnerable stray cats in our community. Over this reporting period, 32 stray and abandoned cats were rescued, including 11 kittens found without their mothers. All newly admitted cats received health assessments, vaccinations where appropriate, parasite treatment, and nutritional support. Of these, 14 cats have already been successfully adopted into responsible homes, while the remaining are undergoing socialization and recovery before placement.
One recent rescue involved a young cat, Luna (name changed for adoption privacy), found injured near a marketplace. She arrived severely underweight and fearful. With veterinary attention, consistent feeding, and gentle rehabilitation by volunteers, Luna regained strength and trust. She was adopted last month into a permanent home where she now thrives indoors, safe and cared for. Stories like Luna’s reflect the heart of Kate’s Haven: transforming neglect into security and uncertainty into belonging.
Beyond rescue operations, this period focused on strengthening preventive impact. We conducted two community awareness conversations about responsible pet care and the importance of sterilization to reduce future stray populations. Shelter improvements were also made to enhance sanitation and space organization, ensuring safe conditions for all resident cats. While the demand for rescue support remains high, Kate’s Haven continues to operate with transparency, compassion, and dedication—offering each rescued cat not just shelter, but a genuine second chance at life.
