In December 2019 the USA executive team returned from a month-long trip to Thailand having overseen expert training of new field teams. This training was hosted in partnership with WaSH SDO Cambodia and sponsored in part by CAWST (Center for Affordable Water and Sanitation Training), Calgary, Canada. The organization is very grateful for this opportunity to partner with expert organizations.
After completion of expert training for trainers and armed with comprehensive WaSH knowledge, field teams entered a tribal elephant sanctuary of 77 homes to provide WaSH training for eager filter recipients and place CR-BSF household filters inside their homes. The residents and elephants in this village were both curious and eager to participate any way they could.
The Pastor of this Christian village personally selected five women to make up the Women's Water Council that oversees field work in the village. The Pastor generously donated the village church for all trainings throughout implementation and follow-up.
IMMEDIATE IMPACT In just two weeks field teams provided training and a houshold safe water solution to 20 families in the principles of Water and Sanitation Hygiene and placed 20 CR-BSFs. Jungle Water field teams were able to provide the best training and filter implementation in order for our villages to achieve the humanitarian right to safe water access.
IMMEDIATE PLANS The organization will seek immediate funding for field teams to enter this village monthly and train 20 families in WaSH prior to placing a CR-BSFs in each family's home. If we can stay on a monthly schedule of 20 filters/20 families this new field team can satisfy the safe water and training needs in this village of 385 residents -in just four months.
FUTURE PLANS Upon funding to scale this project and completion of implementation in our current village, these new field teams will train their own teams for even greater impact in the other nine villages currently in queue for safe water.
