Project Summary: Around 10,000 children from low-income households live in Muyumbu, Kabale district. Unfortunately, food shortages caused by climatic factors and irregular seasonal shifts lead these young children to battle hunger. This affects both their performance and regular attendance at school. At Candles of Hope Uganda, we firmly believe that every child has the potential to become a valuable member of society. Therefore, we intend to create a community greenhouse that will offer year-round food support.

Our goal is to build a greenhouse that will sustain the community’s food supply, providing a stable foundation for feeding lunch to underprivileged schoolchildren, enabling effective learning. By doing so, we aim to:

Feed 600 starving local school-age children and their families within a year.

Raise the existing standard of life while assisting more local kids from disadvantaged backgrounds in the ensuing years.

Establish a long-term feeding program that prioritizes low-income families with school-age children for enrollment.

We have not moved due to lack of funding and currently, we have not made any progress. but we have provided 320 women with hoes to help in food growing.
