Sophia answered 51,000 times. Now it's our turn.

We set out to find 500 Champions. We did not reach the number. But what we found instead was something harder to quantify and far more sustaining: a community that showed up. Activists, supporters, the Giving Women community, people who had never heard of Sophia before and gave anyway. The warmth we felt during this campaign will carry us forward. Thank you.

Our situation has not dramatically changed since the campaign closed. Funding for women’s rights organisations remains under severe pressure globally, and we are no exception. But we are not standing still.

Since then, we have kept building:

• Completely updated our global domestic violence directory — every country, every national support service, current and verified, so that any survivor anywhere can find help the moment they need it
• Announced new partnerships, such as with Girls First Initiative — with more partnerships in the pipeline
• Made several changes to the Sophia website - adding important security updates and notices for the safety of survivors
•  Shared new testimonials from our Sophia Council  — the group of survivors and gender-based violence experts that has reviewed every design decision on Sophia from the start

Now we are preparing hard for the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, running from 25 November to 10 December.  The world's attention will soon be on eradicating gender-based violence and violence against women. As supporters of Sophia, this is the moment you can make the biggest difference. Here is how:
