We are pleased to announce that our second year of preschool classes will begin this week! These students can’t wait to get started. They have been watching the older kids in the village getting to attend our school and now it is finally their turn. They have seen our students come back from school excited about what they have learned, and that has created in them an eagerness for the same experience.
One of those students who graduated from preschool last year is Rodin. Even at this young age, he is a very serious student, as he hardly ever smiles in the classroom. (He saves that for playing soccer with his friends.) His approach is working though, because he is able to write all of the letters of the alphabet, and his first and last name. Rodin was one of our students who were very interested in reading. The desire to become a young reader, along with his studiousness, has produced the hoped for result. He can read many words, and he loves to take books out of our library to read to his family in the evening. His parents are thrilled with his learning, and they have already enrolled him in first grade. We are all confident that he will excel as he continues his schooling, but we plan on checking up on him so that he gets the same experience as he had with us in preschool.
Rodin’s experience is what makes this so special. And thanks to a lot of hard work, and donations from people like you, this experience is the standard, not the exception. Thank you for all you do to help make this possible!
