Setting of the First Stone!

On April 17, 2023, the Learning Center was presented to local authorities, major donors and neighbors of the community of Piedra Parada, Puerto Barrios, Izabal. The municipal mayor of Puerto Barrios, the president of Cocode de Piedra Parada and the president of Tillotson Foundation, Fundacrea's Pure Joy team, parents, and most importantly, the children and youth were present. Everyone expressed their full Support for this endeavor.

The participants learned about what the Learning Center is, what it will include, its objectives, and there was an open mic to clear up any doubts or comments. A billboard was also unveiled, announcing to the general public the construction of the Learning Center in the area, as a symbolic act of "laying of the first stone" and the beginning of its construction.

To conclude the activity, the children and youth enjoyed a science show led by Dr. Amorín, aka Dr. Demo, who taught the children about physical, chemical, and electrical principles, applying them to various experiments that kept them entertained, sparking their curiosity and imagination. A snack was also served.
