Jerusalem Kindergarten Project

Palestinian families living in Jerusalem's Old City continue to face significant poverty and dispossession policies that jeopardize their future and connection to their homeland. In neighborhoods such as Bab Hutta, high costs and limited access to early education leave children without safe, supportive learning environments, hindering their cognitive, emotional, and social development. Ongoing instability further exacerbates trauma among these children, limiting their opportunities for a brighter future.

Through the Jerusalem Kindergarten Project, YEÇED provides free preschool education and psychosocial support to children in Bab Hutta, creating a safe and nurturing space for learning, resilience, and trauma recovery. The project engages families alongside children, strengthening community ties and helping sustain the Palestinian presence in this vulnerable region. By supporting early education and emotional well-being, YEÇED empowers Palestinian children to overcome challenges, preserves cultural identity, and invests in the potential of the next generation, building a stronger and more hopeful future for Jerusalem's Old City.
