Bringing Joy to Learning: Distribution of School Supplies at Orleanpet
On 8 August 2026, Prime Educational and Social Trust (Prime Trust) distributed essential school supplies to children attending one of our remedial tuition centers in Orleanpet, Puducherry. This simple but meaningful initiative was part of our continuing commitment to ensuring that children from economically disadvantaged families have the resources and encouragement they need to stay in school and learn with confidence.
For many children living in underserved communities, going to school is not always easy. While they may have the desire and ability to learn, the cost of notebooks, writing materials, school bags, drawing materials and other basic educational supplies can become an additional burden for their families. Some children are forced to manage with limited supplies, which can affect their participation and enthusiasm in the classroom.
Our Remedial Tuition Programme seeks to address these challenges by providing additional academic support to children who need help with their studies. The centres provide a welcoming environment where children can receive guidance, strengthen their basic learning skills and develop greater confidence in their education.
The distribution at Orleanpet was therefore more than simply handing out school materials. It was an opportunity to tell the children that their education matters and that their dreams are worth supporting.
The children received school supplies that they can use in their daily learning. Their smiles and excitement reminded us that even a modest contribution can make a meaningful difference in a child's life. For a child, receiving a new notebook or a set of learning materials can bring a renewed sense of dignity, motivation and belonging.
At Prime Trust, we believe that education is one of the strongest pathways out of poverty. However, education is not only about attending school. Children also need the right support, encouragement and learning environment to succeed. Through our remedial tuition centres, we work alongside families, teachers and community volunteers to help children remain engaged in education and progress in their studies.
Our work reaches children from communities where educational opportunities and resources are often limited. Over the years, our remedial education initiatives have supported more than 1,000 children, helping them strengthen their learning and continue their schooling.
The school-supplies distribution on 8 August was made possible through the generosity of people who believe that every child deserves an opportunity to learn. We are deeply grateful to our supporters and friends on GlobalGiving whose contributions help us turn compassion into practical action.
