The journey this year was begun across 32 partners on the 2nd October – International Day of Non-Violence. In Uttar Pradesh, 10 partners were supported by UNFPA and MISEREOR supported 22 partners across 13 states. Through this game played in pairs, young people (Jagriks) participate in many real tasks combining the SDGs and the constitution over a period of 4 weeks. After engaging in these self and social action tasks, Jagriks come together every week to reflect on their learning through group meetings called Jagrik Jamghats.
Mobilisation Addas - Introduction to the initiaive
All our partners have completed mobilising Jagriks though an activity called 'Mobilisation Adda',
The purpose of which is very simple, meet, mingle and get introduced to the game, ‘Be A Jagrik! Samvidhan Live!... Live the SDGs; it is ComMutiny: The Youth Collective’s latest public initiative.
Mobilisation adda uses games like human bingo as ice breakers, to establish a connection between the young people gathered for the session. During the course of the mobilisation adda the participants will also be required to articulate their dream for the nation and then eventually arrive at common dreams for the nation. And connect them to their personal dreams and aspirations; that they wish to come true .
Mobilisation adda aims to get at least 50 registrations for the Be A Jagrik public initiative as refl-action (reflect+action) journey to experience the rights and responsibilities. That can make these common dreams for the nation a reality and promote social action towards holding duty bearers accountable for peoples’ promises .
The Orientation Camp - where the game truly begins
This is a two day workshop where Jagriks are immersed into understanding the constitutions, rights and duties and the paradoxes of sustainable development. Through these two days Jagriks begin to understand the nunces of how the constitution plays out in reality and what is the role of every citizen of the country.
