It has been a very impactful 2015-16 year at JA Dallas, thanks to our wonderful volunteers and donors, like you!  With the end of the program year right around the corner, we are on track to impact 50,000 K-12 students in the Dallas area.  As you know, JA Dallas provides important financial literacy and economic education to Dallas area youth each year.  JA curriculum is relevant as it bridges the gap for students between what they are learning in school and the real world.  In fact, a primary reason for student dropout in our nation is not seeing the relevancy in what they are learning. By bringing in trained volunteers from the business and corporate community, students are exposed to new ideas, global perspectives, and careers that many had not been exposed to previously. The financial literacy curriculum, which aligns with the Texas Educational Knowledge & Skills standards, makes it easy for teachers to include it in their lesson plans as supplementary material.

We look forward to impacting even more students with our hands-on, blended learning experiences in the 2016-17 year.  As we grow in our capacity to impact more students, we will look to our dedicated partners in the community to contribute their time volunteering and mentoring these students and to help provide financial support to our programs, so that we may continue to offer them at no cost.
