The Corona virus lockdown has severely hampered our work on the ground. Several members of the staff of our partner Prajwala in Hyderabad have contracted the virus due to their direct involvement in the refugee relief efforts. In spite of these difficulties several sex trafficking victims were rescued and safely sent back to their homes in Bangla Desh. The government officials in Bangla Desh have been most helpful in minimizing bureaucratic delays and received the girls on their side of the border.
our Mumbai based partner Resucue Foundation successfully conducted raids and rescued seven girls in Pune and eleven girls in Mumbai. The team members had the full cooperation of local police in conducting these raids.
