The total lockdown in India beginning In March created unprecedented problems. in the city of Hyderabad ASSET partner Prajwala faced the monumental task of feeding nearly 3,000 hungry families. These consisted of daily wage earners and refugees whose children were vulnerable and had to be protected from traffickers.
We raised sufficient funds and made arrangements for providing groceries for each family to last a month. To observe social distancing, each family was provided a voucher that a family member exchanged for a box of groceries at a pre-selected store.
Teams of survivors of sex trafficking sewed thousands of face masks for first responders and Healthcare workers.
