In December 2023, Airlink facilitated our first charter flight for the response in Gaza on behalf of International Medical Corps (IMC)and the World Health Organization (WHO) to El Arish.
This charter contained a mobile healthcare unit from Hospitainer Medical Solutions set up in south Gaza to support the health needs of civilians in the region. With only one-third of healthcare facilities able to operate, mobile healthcare units are urgently needed in Gaza.
In March 2024, Airlink coordinated our second charter flight to El Arish on behalf of the same organizations. This charter movement contains three Hospitainer units, one of which is a Primary Health Care Facility and two of which are surgical facilities. This has doubled the size of the surgical unit in the field hospital, which now can provide even more Gazans with services like trauma care, physical rehabilitation, comprehensive emergency obstetric and newborn care, advanced mental health care, child protection, nutrition support, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
In tandem with these charter operations, Airlink has supported shipments to the IMC field hospital containing medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, generators, shelter items, and nutrition items. Additionally, Airlink continues to provide travel support for IMC field hospital staff to sustain the needs of their patient population.
In total, we have provided our NGO partners with over $850,000 in transportation relief and reached 800,000+ people with humanitarian aid so far.
