Dear Friends,
We’re sending along another update for our supporters of ISLP’s pro bono work on behalf of 200 Cambodian villagers who were the victims of a land grab. The parties continue to prepare for the upcoming trial—most aspects of this process are highly confidential, so our note this quarter will be short! But the team has had to engage in regular, in-person communication with village representatives, and your generous support makes that possible. We can’t thank you enough!
We would also like to thank GlobalGiving for taking time to make a recent visit to our local partner, the Community Legal Education Center, in Cambodia. We were pleased that the Global Giving representative had the opportunity to see the Cambodian team in action. Following the visit, the Global Giving representative reported back:
“I am beyond impressed with the strength in the impact you are making for so many. In particular, it was inspiring to learn about the dedication your team and ISLP put forth to help provide justice and improved livelihood for those affected by the land concessions in the Koh Kong province. I was very thankful for the details you described and to learn how selfless and passionate your team is in Cambodia.”
As always, we will keep you updated as the case develops and evolves.
In partnership,
The International Senior Lawyers Project
