The Good Food Revolution: Celebrating the Heroes and Sheroes of the Movement
Thursday, June 28th, 2012
6-8pm @ Iron Street Urban Farm (3333 South Iron Street, Chicago, IL 60608)
Come celebrate Growing Power Chicago's first official year of transforming Iron Street Urban Farm from an abandoned warehouse to a productive, flourishing farm!
Province Chef, Randy Zweiban, will be preparing a series of farm-to-table courses showcasing Growing Power's produce and grass-fed poultry and beef. Wine and beer pairings by Heritage Wine and Revolution Brewery!
Iron Street Urban Farm now has 6 hoop houses for year-round food production, 3 aquaponics systems, composting and vermicomposting, mushroom cultivation (oyster, wine cap, shiitake), six rooftop bee hives, and a weekly farm stand to sell fresh produce to the surrounding community. Come celebrate all we've accomplished!
