We're proud to share that while the insecurity in Haiti was an obstacle to all daily activities, we were able to make some adjustments to our programming to support 9 center owners and over 40 workers to continue their work.
Our scholarship program continues for 190 children who live on and near landfills, allowing them to have a childhood and to learn and grow. The afterschool program is critical to providing a safe space for them to go to instead of accompanying their parents to work, and they're thriving. For those who will take their national exams this year, there will be an extended review period to support their success.
In addition to our work in Haiti, we are also accompanying informal collectors in Taiwan where a program to support improved income and productivity has resulted in our collectors' ability to cover all essential bills, something they have struggled to do for far too long. Not only are they proud of their achievements but they're also proud to know that their work is valued.
Our collection network is excited to see progress in improved productivity and income. Your donation will enable us to expand our programs and services to more collectors and center owners, improving the dignity and value of critical work that addresses climate change and abject poverty.
