Keep Moving Forward: HerRight Students Sit Exams

Dear Friends,

Because of you, ten Afghan girls who were banned from their classrooms sat their A-Level exams, a milestone that, for them, was never supposed to be possible.

Afghanistan remains the only country in the world where girls are barred from secondary and higher education. Since 2021, over 2.2 million Afghan girls have been shut out of school; not for lack of ability, but simply because of their gender. HerRight exists to answer that injustice directly: through safe, online study from home, our students work toward a globally recognised high school diploma.

Getting there takes more than just determination. Our students are equipped with digital devices, printers, and data plans, along with regular tutoring sessions and weekly one-on-one mentorship. This practical foundation makes daily study possible, even from inside a home in Afghanistan.

That foundation paid off. Ten of our learners sat their A-Level exams, the culmination of years of quiet, determined study, carried out in secret and against enormous odds. Two of our students have already secured full scholarships to universities in Europe, proof that when given the chance, these young women don't just meet the bar, they exceed it.

Quote from HerRight graduate, N -  “Brave Future did not just give me the opportunity to complete my high school education and earn an internationally recognized diploma; it also helped me become a financially and personally independent woman."

Beyond academics, we know that rebuilding a future takes more than exams. This term, our students took part in five workshops led by accomplished women across different fields, giving them real role models and a wider view of what's possible. We also held a career fair featuring professionals from STEM industries, opening our students' eyes to paths they may never have imagined for themselves. And for students carrying the weight of everything they've been through, we provided counseling support because healing and learning have to go hand in hand.

Every one of these outcomes exists because donors like you believed that a girl's right to learn shouldn't depend on geography or politics. Your support doesn't just fund a laptop or a tutoring session, it tells these young women, unequivocally, that the world has not forgotten them.

We walk with our learners from their very first day of study with us to the moment they walk into a university lecture hall. Thank you for walking that road with us.

With gratitude,
The Brave Future Team
