The Conference brings together community members, including representatives of CSOs and Faith-based groups within Nigeria and globally to foster mutual respect between diverse ethnic and religious groups and supports civil society and individuals who seek non-violent approaches to conflict and strive toward a shared future. Participants provide recommendations to decision-makers, institutions and individuals for dignifying everyone and our shared values.
This is a unique opportunity for Government Officials, faith leaders, CSO actors, religious practitioners and academics alike to critically examine the challenges and opportunities brought about by faith in the context of globalization, justice and emerging social challenges. The Conference will foster interfaith understanding, and collaborate for social justice. In such a safe space, the Conference will be a living model for creating prosperity, coexistence beyond war, and restoring friendship.
The Conference will facilitate and promote dialogue, understanding and a sense of community among persons of diverse faiths and to work cooperatively to end religiously-motivated violence and build cultures of peace. The Conference will provide a platform for constructive dialogue between adherents of different faiths towards better understanding and harnessing of distinct religious principles and teachings to the benefit of all humanity, based mutual respect and acknowledgement of differences.
The Conference will usher in a new way of thinking that demands inclusiveness in the form of sustained human relationships that dignifies all individuals as equals by replacing the old top-down order that separates and fuels the flames of unnecessary separation and exaggerated fear. The participants will provide recommendations to decision-makers, institutions and individuals for dignifying everyone and our shared values.
