Provide clean & safe water for 1500 women&children

It is my pleasure to present a four months progress report for the period (July 2021-October 2021). The project: Provide safe and clean water for 1500 children and women, is aimed at improving water supply and sustaining it to serve the Mutulani community in Makueni County, Kenya.

During the reporting period, three major milestones were achieved which include;

1. Connected Mutulani primary school with water from the drilled borehole through the water tower in August 2021. The children in Mutulani primary have adequate supply of water all day long and could not hide their joy
2. Trained all the Mutulani Water Users in September 2021 on project operation and maintenance towards achieving sustainability of the entire project.  The training reached the project management committee, the Mutulani institutions; the two schools, community dispensary and the MAWE CBO to represent the community. The training laid strategies of project continuity and ownership to ensure it serves future generations
3. Documented the project achievements/milestones since the project inception. The thrilling story of where Mutulani was before the project and where it is now.

The project however is not yet over, we are to initiate a program to recharge the borehole water to improve supply, initiate a water and sanitation program for the children in the two schools as well as clean energy generation through the use of Biogas fuel in the schools as one of the strategy to conserve environment.

We sincerely thank our donors and still make a kind request for continued support to this noble cause of transforming Mutulani area towards achieving a sustainable water source for all.
