A Re-look at our strategy: Focus on ultimate goal

By Mary Mutuku | Project Officer

It is my pleasure to present our project progress report for the 3rdquarter (July - September 2019). The project: Provide safe and clean water for 1500 children and women is now aimed at improving the water supply and sustaining it to serve the Mutulani community in Makueni County, Kenya.

This quarter was characterized by an update of this project to accommodate the objectives of the PEN/Mutulani community integrated water projects into one. This was after the Micro project that was posted in May expired without meeting its objective. We are delighted that our proposed changes were approved and will now shift focus to getting the water flow to the schools and community. We are delighted that our project is now eligible to receive donations not only on GlobalGiving but also on corporate portals like the Eli Lilly & Co. In addition, PEN received a Site Visit Verified Certificate that demonstrates the good work the organization is doing in Mutulani area that was witnessed by the Field traveler in April 2019.

PEN, the Mutulani Schools and the community are now focusing their fundraising to the step-by-step completion of the project where specific milestones are target to complete the project. This will begin with the overdue installation of a water pump and a storage tank.

We are making a kind request to all our donors to continue extending your love to Mutulanipeople through supporting this noble cause of transforming the area through achieving a sustainable water source. We also highly appreciate the GlobalGiving Program Team for the continued support in actualizing this dream.
