We are pleased to share an update on the Al Swayka Community Initiative, which was developed in response to a priority identified by residents and supported through a community-led fundraising campaign.
As of September 16, 2026, the campaign has successfully reached its fundraising target, raising a total of $5,065 ($5,035 through WHISH and $30 through GlobalGiving).
The funds will support the installation of solar-powered lighting along the neighborhood stairs, addressing the lack of adequate lighting in the area. The project aims to improve visibility and public safety, reduce the risk of accidents, and strengthen residents’ sense of security, while introducing a sustainable lighting solution that contributes to a safer, more accessible, and resilient community.
We sincerely thank all donors and supporters whose generosity made this achievement possible.
